Sophie, junior, Anthem, Arizona

The best thing I’ve learned in Student Health 101 so far is…

There was one article about being happy without a lot of stuff. I really liked it because it brought some new things to my attention. My motto is that if you don’t love it, don’t buy it, so when I read this article, it added ways to help make the decision of [whether or not to buy] something.

Fun facts about me

  • I love to travel and try new things!
  • My middle name is Chinese.
  • I can flare my nostrils.
  • I am very flexible.

How I give back to my community

I do the little things that make a great impact. For example, I pick up litter whenever I see it. I do this wherever I am, especially at the beach. I’ve volunteered at a horse ranch on a regular basis cleaning the stalls, washing the horses, painting the barns, restocking the hay, playing with the horses, and much more! Recently, I have been getting involved in the Arizona Humane Society to help with the animal socialization and finding homes.
